Easily one of the most haunted places in town, the Lemp Mansion is so known for its paranormal activity that the building frequenly hosts murder mystery dinners and haunted tours. But it's the uninvited guests that keep the place interesting. The staff can tell you all about the history of the Lemp family and the many deaths, suicides and scandals that have taken place on the property.

If you've seen The Exorcist, you have a general idea of the evil that happened in this house. It was a movie based off of a book of the true tale of a posessed 14-year-old boy. This was where he lived.

Mysterious white fogs are said to move around some headones at Bellefontaine, sometimes even in the broad daylight. Many believe these are ghostly figures returning to their own graves or those of their loved ones. Many victims from the cholera epidemic were buried here and it's said the died so quickly that their souls are not at rest.

It's said that there are many ghosts that roam the streets of Lafayette Squre and the hallways of these old houses trying to figure out what happened to their lives.

Dr. Franz Arzt (1844-1923) was a character in his time. An immigrant from the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Arzt found tons of business opportunities in bustling St. Louis. This, the only remaining row house in the area, stands alone in a parking lot on Tucker Boulevard. It's said to be the former home of the infamous "Stagger Lee" and is rumored by downtown workers to be haunted because they've allegedly seen creepy things pass by the windows here frequently.
