A peaceful protest last night in St. Louis remembered Sandra Bland, the 28-year-old black woman found dead in a holding cell in July 2015 in Waller County, Texas, after a routine traffic stop. It has been one year since Bland's death, and protesters stopped traffic near CityGarden in downtown St. Louis, carrying signs in her honor as well as that of other black women killed in police custody. Hashtags #RememberHer and #SayHerName commemorated the event online. Freelance photographer Glenn Reigelman II was there and captured these striking images.
