Noname Packed the Pageant Last Night and St. Louis Was Here For It

Following a critically acclaimed debut album, an international tour and an appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon alongside St. Louis' own Smino and fellow Chicago rapper Saba, Noname made a stop in St. Louis last night for a packed show at the Pageant.

The slam-poet-turned-rapper, born Fatimah Warner, brought the relaxed delivery and heady rhymes that have helped her stand out in the late 2010’s rap scene — a climate that sometimes favors flash and controversy over intellectualism and substance. Her works, particularly 2016 mixtape Telefone and her recently released debut album Room 25, memorably convey a continuous and poised social critique through a cluttered landscape. And St. Louis is surely here for it.
