On April 14, St. Louis' first-ever Dog Prom came to
Gezellig (
4191 Manchester Avenue, 314-833-5532). Organized by Gezellig bartender Josh Fenton (and benefiting Stray Rescue and Bi State Pet Food Pantry) the prom had it all -- tuxedos, dresses, corsages, drinks and treats for human and doggo alike. Instead of awkward slow-dances, the dozens of four-legged prom participants mostly opted to eat custard treats off the floor and sniff many,
many new butts. At the end of the event, two exceptional pups, Ruger and Ellie Mae, were crowned king and queen of the Dog Prom.
